The rumor mill has been very strong when it comes to Star Wars: Episode VII: For starters, Lupita Nyong'o is apparently up for a role in the movie, as well as Zac Efron and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Additionally, we know for sure that Adam Driver will play the bad guy (or a bad guy?) and that Carrie Fisher will return as Princess Leia.

Actual facts concerning the movie's plot, though, were slim to none—until today. According to Total Film, it has been announced that the movie will take place 30 years from the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and is set to begin filming in May.

Star Wars: Episode VII will open in theaters December 18, 2015
