The Society of Camera Operators honored 27-year-old Sarah Jones, who was killed while filming the Gregg Allman biopic, Midnight Rider, in Georgia. The Society paid tribute to her life and work in the industry by making her an honorary associate member during its annual Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Jones' father, Richard Jones received a standing ovation before starting his speech.

"I'm just representing Sarah," he said. "I know she is looking down with a smile. Her enthusiasm is contagious and I hope it lives on."

Multiple investigations regarding the tragic death are underway and Georgia law enforcement authorities have claimed the investigation into Jones’ death a negligent homicide.

Watch as The Hollywood Reporter captured tearful moments from Sarah Jones' candlelight walk and memorial, where hundreds of mourners gathered to pay their respects.
