Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was thrust into mainstream culture when an excerpt from her TEDTalk on feminism was added to Beyonce's latest album, but she's long been a decorated writer in the literary world: Her most recent novel, Americanah—a story about a young Nigerian woman who emigrates to America for a college—was just awarded the National Book Critics Circle Award. And now, it looks like we might be seeing a film adaptation of it with none other than Hollywood's current "It" girl.

Recently, Adichie spoke with Arise Entertainment 360 and shared the news: "I'm going to do the mysterious thing and say that Lupita [Nyong'o] might be making an announcement very soon," she said. "I don't know. That announcement might be about Americanah."

So, perchance, possibly, conceivably—Nyong'o will likely be making an announcement that, who knows, could have something to do with Americanah? Like an adaptation that she'll star in? Let's all take a moment to consider how AMAZING this would be.

No word on when to expect an announcement from Nyong'o.
