Modders have figured out now to use the sexy new Xbox One controller with the PlayStation 4, as well as the last-gen Xbox 360 however Microsoft said during the E3 reveal of the Xbox One that the new controller would be usable on the PC. After modders and Redditors came out claiming that it wasn't possible Microsoft is firing back.

"This is 100% wrong," director of product planning Albert Penello said about the rumors on NeoGaf. "When the drivers become available, they will work with the existing controllers. There is no plan to do a new, separate controller that only works on Windows. The Xbox One controller you have today will work."

One of the big features of the Xbox One's new controller was that it could be used as a competition controller – one that has slightly faster response times – by using a mini USB connection but so far this has not been unveiled.

While it's clear that Microsoft has a long lifespan planned for the Xbox One (just like the Xbox 360) it shouldn't be surprised when gamers get pissed when it teases features that are possibly years away from implementation.
