Here Is an Excerpt From the Sixth "Game of Thrones" Book to Make Your Day a Little Brighter

A lot of people probably die in it.

The author of the Game of Thrones books (officially titled the A Song of Ice and Fire series), George R.R. Martin, is worried that the show is going faster than his pen. His work isn't done yet, of course—he still has two more books to write. The next one in the series is called The Winds of Winter, and if you've either read all of the books or don't really care about spoilers, go ahead and read it. If not, it's probably best to leave it alone—knowing Martin, a lot of characters probably die in it!

Either way—this is good news for fans regardless, as it just shows that there will certainly be a bunch of new material to film, or read, pretty soon. Check out the excerpt here.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO for its fourth season on April 6.
