Here's an instance where students can blame their piss poor grades on the professor.

Thao Shirley Nguyen, a rookie professor at Lone Star College-University Park in Houston, was supposed to be teaching an Introduction to Chemistry course. However, students knew something was very wrong when their grades were in the toilet. "I studied as hard as I could, did everything in my power to try," Lauren Firmin told KHOU 11, revealing that she was getting 40s on tests.

Nguyen admitted that she had accidentally taught a more advanced course right before the final exam, and Firmin spoke up because the B she received in the class ruined her 4.0 GPA. She appealed her grade, but the school rejected the appeal.

While a spokesperson for Lone Star told KHOU 11 that Nguyen had taught the correct class, the head of the science department reportedly sent an email confirming that she had taught the wrong course by mistake. Another student said she atoned for this mistake by giving every student extra credit.
