Liam Neeson Beat Jesus This Weekend

At the box office, that is.

If Liam Neeson wasn't a bona-fide action star already, he sure is now. His new murder-in-the-skies flick Non-Stop was number one at the box office this weekend, beating even Son of God, which snagged the number two spot.

Neeson stars in full Taken ass-kicking mode as an air marshal who has to stop a killer from knocking people off every twenty minutes. On a plane! It co-stars Julianne Moore, Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery, 12 Years a Slave Oscar nominee Lupita Nyong'o and House of Cards' Corey Stoll.

Neeson scored the no. 3 movie as well -- he voices not one but three characters in The Lego Movie, which passed the $200 million mark this weekend. Son of God is about the life of Jesus, produced by the same people behind the History Channel miniseries The Bible. But even Jesus was no match for Neeson. Should have seen that coming.
