Authorities say a Canadian man was arrested for trying to smuggle five pounds of methamphetamine across the border after departing New York.

According to the New York Daily News, Karone Johnson, 21, was arrested at the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday after leaving Niagra Falls, N.Y. Authorities say the Thorold, Ontario native was stopped when officers noticed something strange about the screws on a speaker box in his vehicle. After removing the speaker, they discovered five packages containing meth. 

Customs officials handed Johnson over to Homeland Security. He currently faces drug smuggling charges.
