The 14-year-old boy who killed a man after opening fire aboard a B15 bus in Brooklyn on Thursday evening has been charged with murder, officials say.

According to the New York Daily News, Kahton Anderson, a member of the Stack Money Goons gang, saw a member of the rival Twan Family gang on the bus around 6 p.m. He began "shooting wildly," accidentally striking Angel Rojas, 39, in the back of the head. Rojas, a married father of two, was returning home between jobs.

The Daily News adds that Rojas still had a pulse when paramedics arrived, but died just before 8 p.m. at Woodhull Medical Center.

Anderson was apprehended later with an empty weapon. He was charged with second-degree murder on Friday and was ordered held without bail. A judge also ruled that Anderson will stand trial as an adult.
