Jim Parsons Fights Typecasting on "SNL": His Best Skits

With middling success.

NBC

Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons hosted Saturday Night Live this week, and as seems to be the case with any episode not starring Justin Timberlake, there were hits and misses both. It was the show's first week without head writer Seth Myers, so we'll cut them some slack. Parsons' monologue called out the elephant in the room: he is not, in fact, Sheldon Cooper. A number of typecast actors joined him for a musical number.

Other standouts included nervous white people auditioning for 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen, Cecily Strong's Weekend Update, which introduced new head writer Colin Jost, and Parsons as a dance floor serial killer.

Lena Dunham is hosting next week, but you can watch Parsons' best skits below.
