Authorities are investigating a report of someone with a gun on Stevenson University's Owings Mills campus in Owings Mills, Md

The Baltimore Sun reports that the school posted an alert about an "active shooter" in Owings Mills on its website, and that school spokesman John Buettner said that a "shelter in place" alert had been issued to inform everyone currently on campus about the situation at hand. 

According to Baltimore County Police, the campus remains locked down while police look into the unconfirmed report

Stevenson U incident began when 2 people saw what they thought was person w a gun & called 911. Entire campus is locked down at this time.

UPDATE: Fox Baltimore says that police have now confirmed that the report was of someone armed with a shotgun, adding that this is not an active shooter situation.

According to WBAL, a rifle with a scope was reportedly found in a pickup truck with a parking pass, but the station noted that Baltimore County Police spokeswoman Elise Armacost said police could not confirm that they'd found a gun.
