Designer Marc Newson put Google Glass on blast while talking to Dezeen about his new line of shades.
Google Glass has been a point of contention: people have praised its technological abilities, while others being attacked simply for wearing the device. Yet, Newson is criticizing the device for how it looks.
"What Google have done thus far, I wouldn't be seen dead wearing. It looks pretty stupid," Newson said.
He even compared the device to another little invention from more than a decade ago that impressed with its capabilities, but failed to make its way into the mainstream: the Segway.
"It's a little bit like that wonderful invention called the Segway. It’s such a fantastic piece of technology but you just look like a complete dick when you drive around on it," he said. "That's where the bridge to the world of fashion really doesn't, or didn't, work. That's precisely the moment when I think the fashion world laughs at the world of industrial design, justifiably."
Luckily for Google, the latest reports have them teaming up with Ray Ban for some help in that department, so Newson might be made a believer yet.
