As City Guide reported earlier this week, 30-year-old Amherst grad Kyle Hunt has organized a White Man March in New York City for today. The purpose of the event is to help create awareness around the fact that white people are often discriminated against.

Hunt anticipated having to deal with controversy surrounding his cause, but he probably didn't anticipate that the hashtags #WhiteManMarchProtestSigns and #WhiteManMarch would trend on Twitter.

Here's a look at some of the best tweets. Not surprisingly, they are mostly hilarious, confused and critical of an event that argues "white genocide" is a real thing.
