According to Variety, Conan O’Brien will host the MTV Movie Awards on April 13 from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California. The network will also use YouTube comedians Our2ndLife in part of the promotional campaign leading up to the show.
In a statement regarding his new gig as host, O’Brien had this to say: “After eight years of intense negations, I am honored to announce I am hosting MTV’s second-most prestigious awards show.”
The site is reporting that O’Brien’s social media reach and popularity with younger fans is what drove the decision to hire him to host. This goes hand-in-hand with Our2ndLife providing digital videos and social media content about all of the nominees once they are announced on Wednesday.
