A California man turned himself in after finding his mugshot on Google, authorities say.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Christopher Viatafa, 27, found his mugshot on Northern California's Most Wanted's website. The website, which launched in December, is the collaborative work of the FBI, U.S. Marshal Service and Northern California Regional Intelligence Center, and lists criminals wanted in the Bay Area.
Viatafa's initial arrest came last August for discharging a semi-automatic weapon during a dispute at the San Leandro Senior Center. San Leandro police commended Viatafa for coming forward in a statement, saying: "Although it wasn't good judgment that landed him on the website, he did use good judgment in turning himself in after seeing his photo."
