Amazon is doing its best not to be left behind in the dust.

According to sources, the company will release a streaming video device next month that will put it head to head with other services like Roku and Google's Chromecast streaming services (it will also be a "stick" that plugs into a TV, like Chromecast.) Amazon will begin selling the device from its site early next month, and Best Buy and Staples may sell it, too. Also, in an ironic twist, it may use a custom version of Google's Android OS, so people can download extra apps. Users will get to use their Amazon Prime accounts, along with other services like Hulu and Netflix. No word on price yet, but hopefully it will be cheaper than the $99 Prime costs now.
