A teenager's daring journey to the top of 1 World Trade Center has unearthed a startling revelation: there are no functioning cameras inside of its tower.
Early Sunday morning, 16-year-old Justin Casquejo snuck past four layers of security—including a sleeping security guard—en route to the top. As the Daily Intelligencer explained, his foray was aided by the fact that none of the cameras will work "until the building opens later this year."
The only camera that caught Casquejo was a perimeter cam that spotted him as he crawled through a hole in the fence. The guards who were supposed to be paying attention to that camera obviously were not. Amidst the obvious security questions created by a curious 16-year-old, one would assume swift and drastic measures have been taken to fortify 1 WTC.
