VH1 Has Ordered A Naked Dating Show, Because It Was Only a Matter of Time

Who has time for an imagination in 2014?

Don't front: We've all been on a date and wondered what the person sitting across from us looks like naked. VH1, the network that may have the crown when it comes to reality television (sorry Bravo), has ordered 10 episodes of a naked dating show that will address that curiosity a bit. Each hour-long episode of the yet to be officially titled series will feature a man and a woman going on dates with two different people—both of whom are completely naked. At the end of the episode, one of the dates is chosen, and a new couple is born.

Ah, the search for love.

Lighthearted Entertainment, the production company behind Extreme Makeover and Next, is producing the show. The company's president, Howard Shultz, said he "created this show based on marrying a provocative idea with a back to basics philosophy. With all the dating options in the world, what happens if you take one man and woman and strip them of all their pretenses?"

The concept of a naked reality show is not all that new: In the past, Discovery created NakedCastaway and Naked and Afraid; additionally, the Dutch have a show called Adam Looking For Eve.

There's no word on when the series will officially air. But, you can probably expect the video editing team to be working overtime in post-production with the blur tool.
