In a surprising move, the USA Network has announced that it will cancel its long-running comedy, Psych, after eight seasons on the air, according to Vulture. The final episode is fast approaching and will air on March 26. For those who never caught the show, Psych stars James Roday and Dulé Hill as crime consultants and detectives for the Santa Barbara Police Department. The hook is that Roday’s character, Shawn Spencer, pretends to have psychic powers in order to keep getting work.

Since its debut in 2006, Psych never scored monster ratings, but for USA, the show proved to be a consistent hit, both critically and commercially. The show never got the love it deserved from TV aficionados, but with an eight-year run under its belt, Psych was doing something right.
