Unsung Story, the spiritual successor to Final Fantasy Tactics from mobile developer Playdek and the legendary designer/composer/charater artist trifecta of Yasumi Matsuno, Hitoshi Sakimoto and Akihiko Yoshida has just barely passed its Kickstarter funding goal of $600,000 as of last night. With just under an hour to go before the campaign ends there's still a chance – if only a slim one – the team may hit their first stretch goal of $750,000, or about $100,000 shy, to hire longtime localization collaborators Alexander O. Smith and Joseph Reeder to polish Unsung Story's script.

Smith and Reeder have previously worked with Matsuno and company on titles like Vagrant Story, the Tactics re-release War of the Lions and Crimson Shroud, and anyone who's played any of these games will be familiar with just how much their Shakespearean dialogue sensibiilties enhances the medieval worlds of Matsuno's imagination.

You can see an example of the kind of localization efforts the Smith and Reeder help make a reality (not to mention Yoshida's incredible artistic style) in this clip from War of the Lions. You've got an hour to go pledge and go do so at the link below. Anyone who loves medieval strategy RPGs is highly encouraged.
