BBC showed some love to fans this Valentine’s Day by breaking the news on the official Peaky BlindersFacebook page that Tom Hardy has joined the cast of the critically-acclaimed crime drama for season two. Not much was revealed about his character, but the Facebook page did mention that, “Hardy will feature as a charismatic leader who presents a unique opportunity to Tommy (Cillian Murphy).”

Peaky Blinders focuses on a gangster family in Birmingham just after the end of World War I. It’s based on the true life story of the real Peaky Blinders gang that rose to infamy in the early 20th century.

Hardy joins a cast that already includes Sam Neill, Helen McCrory, and Cillian Murphy, who Hardy starred with in The Dark Knight Rises. The first season of Peaky Blinders lasted six episodes, which will be the same number for season two as well.

The second season of Peaky Blinders will air at some point during 2014.
