Earlier today, Fox Studios announced the cast for The Fantastic Four reboot, set to hit theatres June 19th, 2015. The film will star Jamie Bell (The Adventures of Tin Tin), Michael B. Jordan (The Wire, Fruitvale Station), Kate Mara (House of Cards), and Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now). After word spread that Michael B. Jordan would be starring as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, some film fans took to twitter to voice their displeasure. Casting outrage is nothing new for comic book movies, but this time, because Jordan is a black man set to play a character who's long been illustrated as white, the conversation proved especially SMDH-worthy.

For some reason people can wrap their minds around a fictional character bursting into flames, flying, and fighting super villains, but still can't cope with the idea of a black man starring in a role that they feel should have went to a white actor. Hopefully the Fantastic Four can save us from people like that.
