Jennifer Lopez is starring in and executive producing a drama called Shades of Blue about a dirty cop who gets roped into working with the FBI. NBC has not only picked up the pilot, but ordered the full thirteen episodes. This pretty much only happens with big-name stars, and usually not even then.

Last year, NBC ordered twenty-six episodes of The Michael J. Fox Show before the pilot even aired, and it doesn't look like the series will be renewed for a second season. Ryan Seacrest is also an executive producer, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Lopez stars as Harlee (Harlee?) McCord, a single mother and detective who works undercover for the FBI's anti-corruption task force, which puts her in a bad spot when it comes to her friends/fellow dirty cops. Moral dilemma!

The deal was all very hush-hush, probably because Lopez has such a reputation for being accommodating and easy-going. Oh, wait.

Shades of Blue (get it?) won't be on until the 2015-2016 season, but you could always act it out a la Eric Cartman until then.
