Paramount has found its leading man for the upcoming Terminator reboot as Variety is reporting that Jai Courtney (Spartacus, A Good Day to Die Hard) has been cast as Kyle Reese in director Alan Taylor’s sci-fi blockbuster. This is the same role that Michael Biehn made famous in 1984’s original Terminator, and was later played by Anton Yelchin in 2009’s Terminator Salvation. Now Courtney will put a new spin on it as the studio is looking to inject some life into the franchise.

Courtney will join a cast that already includes Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Sara Connor and Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) as her son, John Connor. Other than that, not much is known about the movie. We still don’t know if it will be a full-on reboot like Batman Begins or a soft relaunch like J.J. AbramsStar Trek.

However, there have been rumors of an appearance from Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film, and if that happens it’s easy to assume that the film will stick to the original continuity in some way.

Terminator: Genesis, which is the movie’s rumored title, will hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
