The cast for Alan Taylor’s upcoming Terminator: Genesis has been coming together in recent months with the announcement of Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) signing on to play Sara Connor and Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) as her son, John Connor. Now, according to Deadline, the pivotal role of Kyle Reese will be decided between Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard) and Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl).

The role was originally played by Michael Biehn in James Cameron’s original Terminator in the ‘80s. Now the part is being eyed to last for at least two movies as Genesis, and its subsequent sequels, will complete the story of humanity’s battles against Skynet.

Nothing is really known about the plot or setting of the movie, but with Sara Connor, John Connor, and Kyle Reese all being present, you can expect some time traveling to take place. Plus, an appearance by Arnold Schwarzenegger has been hinted at heavily.

Terminator: Genesis will hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
