Tired of snow and winter in general? You aren't the only one. Frustration with the elements is a universal feeling this winter, and an old photograph shows how New York City used to deal with snow during the mid-20th century: Fuck shoveling, the city just decided to burn it.
The photo above shows Sgt. Robert G. Evraets in a desperate attempt to rid Governor's Island of snow by using a flamethrower back in 1947. It's a logical, yet unorthodox method, but mounting frustration will have people reaching for solutions.
