So, Adam Sandler's appearance on last night's post-Super Bowl episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine wasn't exactly a surprise—it was reported back in December that he would be making a cameo on the series—but it was pretty surprising to find out that his short, minute-long appearance is actually the funniest thing he's done in a long, long while. Could Sandler finally be back in full form, like his Big Daddy days, after so many movie flops like That's My Boy and Grown-Ups 2? We can hope.

Until then, though, these GIFs and clips of his appearance on the episode will do just fine. For some backstory, in case you haven't watched yet: Sandler's cameo takes place during an antiquities auction, when he heckles Andy Samberg's Jake Peralta. The exchange that follows is nothing short of hilarious—and what follows that is brilliant.

Sorry, Kevin James. Also, in addition to Sandler, the episode also included cameos from Patton Oswalt, Fred Armisen, and Joe Theismann.

Anyway, you can check out Sandler's entire appearance—spread out over three clips—below.
