The state of Colorado took a triumphantly progressive leap yesterday as the first legal sales of recreational marijuana took place. At 8 a.m., Iraq war veteran Sean Azzariti became the first person to purchase legal weed in the state, buying 3.5 grams of Bubba Kush from Denver's 3D Cannabis Center. He spent $59.74 total, but his facial expression was priceless.
Surprisingly, the first 24 hours of legal weed in Colorado passed without issue. Yes, there were lines that resembled those of a coveted Jordan release, but there was no chaos, no conflict, and the demand didn't overwhelm the supply. As usual, the best action occurred on Twitter, where people shared pictures of long lines, jokes and jabs, and a plethora of horrendous "Mile High" puns.
Peep how Twitter reacted to the first 24 hours of legal marijuana in Colorado to remember one of the biggest days in marijuana culture to date.
