The fact that there are twins who were born in different years is amazing, but the true miracle is that it happened on more than one occasion. Who said lightning never strikes twice?
Yaleni Tohalin of Wheaton, Md. gave birth to her daughter, Lorraine Yaleni Begazo, with two minutes left in 2013. About three minutes later, she began 2014 by giving birth to her son, Brandon Ferdinando Begazo. She's come up with a fun, economic way to celebrate future birthdays: "One cake will blow out before midnight and the other cake after midnight. I don't have to do two different parties."
In Toronto, Lindsay Salgueiro gave birth to twin girls born in separate years. Gabriela Salgueiro was born at 11:38 p.m. on New Year's Eve, while her sister, Sophia Salgueiro, was born 38 seconds after midnight on New Year's Day. "Not a bad way to end the year and not a bad a way to start the year off," their mother said.
The specifics of these children's origins will make for interesting playground discussion.
