Trey Radel, the Florida Congressman who pleaded guilty to cocaine possession in November, is expected to resign today.

NBC News reports that Radel's future had been up in the air since his October arrest for cocaine possession in D.C.'s Dupont Circle neighborhood. After pleading guilty to misdemeanor cocaine possession, Radel took a leave of absence to attend rehab at a Florida in-patient program.

Radel returned to Capitol Hill this month amidst questions about his future. According to NBC News, he apologized to his fellow Republican lawmakers during a Jan. 8. meeting. Just after news of his arrest went public, the Republican Party of Florida had asked for his resignation.

According to The Hill, Rep. Paige Kreegel—who lost to Radel in the 2012 primary race—launched a campaign against Radel. GOP sources told The Hill that Gov. Rick Scott will announce specific dates for a special election that will likely take place in June or July.
