Last year, legendary director, Hayao Miyazaki, announced his retirement following the release of his latest film, The Wind Rises. Over the years, Miyazaki has been one of the preeminent animators in the world, having directed classics such as Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. Now The Simpsons is paying tribute to the director with a sequence in this Sunday’s upcoming episode, “Married to the Blob.”
The tribute sequence features numerous Springfieldians transformed into timeless characters from throughout Miyazaki’s films. Can you spot them all? Check out the video above to find out.
