Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Has Justin Bieber's Back

Future running mates?

Not many people have been rushing to the defense of Justin Bieber in recent weeks, but he did get support from a very unlikely source when Toronto Mayor Rob Ford stood up for the embattled pop star during a radio interview with The Sports Junkies on 106.7 in Washington D.C. (via Politico).

When asked about Bieber, Ford tried to diffuse the situations by saying, “He’s a young guy, 19 years old. I wish I was as successful as he was. Nineteen years old, guys, think back to when you were 19, you know?”

Of course it’s easy for Ford to think about all of the mistakes he made at 19 because, well, he’s still making them now as an elected official. Then when the radio show hosts called Bieber “Canada’s worst export,” Ford responded with a groaned, “Come on.” Obviously he's a fan.

Maybe it’s for the best that Bieber gets deported back to Canada. Not only is Ford still in office there after admitting to smoking crack in a drunken stupor, his approval rating is still higher than President Obama’s. In fact, it's gone up recently. Head north, Justin. It’s just easier.
