When Shawn Spencer (James Roday) first convinced the Santa Barbara Police Department to take him on as a “psychic consultant,” chances are even he could not have foreseen that eight years later he’d still be cracking cases using those “supernatural” powers. Alongside his best friend, Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill), Shawn has been through some of the wildest capers on TV, and the upcoming eighth season, premiering tonight on USA Network, promises cases to top them all. Tonight’s premiere has Shawn and Gus in London, moving from one classic British setup to another—the episode is titled “Lock, Stock, Some Smoking Barrels and Burton Guster's Goblet of Fire,” if that’s any indication of what’s in store.
This season, Shawn and Gus will be joined by the entire cast of returning regulars for 10 episodes that will include one selected by fan votes. The episode is zombie-themed, and was directed by Roday, who has written and directed a number of episodes since the show’s first season. So get it all started by tuning in to the season premiere tonight at 9/8c on USA Network. We can’t read minds or anything, but we think you’ll like it.
