Much like Hollywood studios depend on blockbusters to pull in major profits every year, mainstream comic book companies release action-packed “event” comics aimed at attracting larger audiences than average books. These titles often tout high-profile creative teams and feature shocking deaths or plot twists that attract millions of readers a month. Today, Marvel released the first details for its big 2014 event book, titled Original Sin, which will be written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Mike Deodato.

According to an article on USA Today, the book will focus on the murder of Uatu the Watcher, the mysterious cosmic entity who monitors all of the activity in the Marvel Universe. In story, Nick Fury will lead a team comprised of Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man to get to the bottom of the murder, while a team of Punisher, Doctor Strange, Emma Frost, Ant-Man and Black Panther will split off and look on their own.
