Apparently, Bugatti Biebs isn’t as popular as we thought.
A WhiteHouse.gov petition recently received over 100,000 signatures demanding pop megastar Justin Bieber to be deported. Turns out, 100,000 is the number of signatures needed to earn a response from the Obama administration.
"We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture," reads the petition. "We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked."
Bieber, who is originally from Canada, has recently had his fair share of run-ins with the law. He was under investigation for allegedly pelting his neighbor’s mansion with eggs and last week, was arrested in Miami for driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest. As of now, the latter is the only charge that hasn’t been dropped. The petition stated that the singer is a “terrible influence on our nation's youth.”
As expected, there were competing petitions created to keep Bieber from getting removed from the states. One petition, “Stop Justin Bieber from getting deported” has over 1,440 signatures thus far. Check out the introduction for this petition:
“The whole idea of Justin Drew Bieber getting deported, is completely unfair. He doesn't deserve this.... With your help, we can stop it. He's human. He's not perfect. The media sees the bad side of him. Please. He's saved so many lives. Including mine. A lifesaver, Shouldn't deserve this.”
It’s hard to imagine this petition reaching 100,000 signatures, especially with that comma usage, but stranger things have happened. The White House recently raised the signature requirement because they believed the prior system was being used to promote irrelevance instead of crucial topics.
