With Transformers and G.I. Joe proving to be massive hits at the box office, it only makes sense that Sony would try to move forward with another ‘80s icon at the movies, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. For a while, Jon Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) was attached to this project, but that fell through a few months ago and the studio is currently looking for a replacement. And according to SchmoesKnow.com, there is an impressive list of potential candidates being compiled.

The site has heard rumors that the studio is looking at Joe Cornish (Attack the Block),Rian Johnson (Looper), Andy Muschietti (Mama), Kirk DeMicco & Chris Sanders (The Croods) and Phil LordChris Miller (21 Jump Street) to come aboard the movie. That’s an impressive list, especially with the inclusion of Johnson and Cornish. The site is also reporting that the movie is very close to happening and Sony is apparently keen on making He-Man a reality this time. Is there a director on this list that you want to see take the reins? Let us know.
