Shooting Reported on Eastern Florida State College's Campus (Updated)

Authorities say that one person was shot in a parking lot at Eastern Florida State College today. 

According to Reuters, the Cocoa, Fla. university announced that a shooting had taken place on its Palm Bay campus:

A shooting has been reported in Palm Bay campus parking lot. Campus is locked down and people are asked to stay inside with doors locked.
One of four Eastern Florida State College campuses (Palm Bay campus only) is locked down after shooting in parking lot.

WFTV reports that one person was hospitalized in critical condition. Another person, who authorities suspect is the shooter, was also taken to the hospital with injuries sustained before the shooting took place. Police say they are questioning a third person involved in the shooting. Meanwhile, the school's campus remains on lockdown.

UPDATE: According to the school, the lockdown has been lifted. The shooting was the result of a fight involving three people. WESH says the fight happened just before 2 p.m.; one person was attacked, went to his car to retrieve a firearm and shot one of his attackers in the chest. 

Classes have been cancelled for the remainder of the afternoon.
