Seattle Seahawks cornerback, Richard Sherman, came under fire this past week for his antics following a game-winning play he made against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Much of the criticism had a racist undertone to it, with words like "thug" getting tossed around so casually that Sherman himself called it a euphemism for the n-word. Now, Grantland's Rembert Browne weighs in on the subject with his latest article, explaining why Sherman's critics are misguided, but also why those who are defending him—specifically, the ones who cite Sherman's Stanford background in order to vouch for his character—should re-evaluate the issue. Sherman has every right to speak his mind, regardless of his education and, as Rembert puts it, "the next Richard Sherman may not have attended Stanford. So what then?"

Yeah, you may have already done it, but even then, two times still isn't enough to appreciate the genius of "Resolution Revolution." One of L.A.'s fastest rising music stars as of late has been the Taylor Gang-affiliated and Atlantic Records-signed, R&B crooner, Ty Dolla $ign. Having just put out his major label debut, Beach House EP, this past week, Dolla $ign made sure to drop a video along with it, picking out "Never Be the Same" as the lead single. Featuring TDE's very own Jay Rock, the video is a well-made, black-and-white tale of Dolla $ign's rise from the ruins, and the song's inspirational tone is nicely complemented by Jay Rock's hard-hitting flow. 

Kanye West and 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen were two of 2013's most vibrant artists regarding race and racism. Now, for Interview magazine, the two got together to have a discussion about a variety of topics, including My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye's artistic process, and even the "Bound 2" video.
