The sunnier, funnier doppelganger to Jake Gyllenhaal's very creepy Enemy, The Double multiplies the average number of Jesse Eisenbergs in a movie by two. Richard Ayoade, the stand-up comic and surprisingly competent director of Submarine (think Wes Anderson in England), adapts Dostoyevsky's novella The Double, about a government clerk driven bonkers by a man who looks just like him.

The trailer for Ayoade's film, set to Son House's amazing "Grinnin' in Your Face," was one of the most exciting of 2013, making this a must-see in 2014. —Ross Scarano
