The worlds of Insidious, Saw, and Glee, together at last.

No, seriously. Cooties, a horror-comedy premiering later this month at the Sundance Film Festival, was written by Insidious/Saw screenwriter Leigh Whannell and Glee co-creator Ian Brennan, and the plot sounds like the perfect marriage between both of their sensibilities. Set inside an elementary school, Cooties approaches the zombies-by-way-of-28 Days Later concept from a pre-teen perspective, pitting a ragtag group of teachers (played by the likes of Elijah Wood, Rainn Wilson, and 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer) and students against little kiddies who've been infected by a virus that turns them into killer mutants.

How's that for a take-it-or-leave-it premise? Those who appreciate a good midnight movie will surely opt to "take" it. —Matt Barone
