Amazon took over your bookshelf, now it's going to take over your TV.

The company is reportedly working on a Android powered gaming console for release this year. According to rumors, the console will will about the size of Sony's PSone console, and will be available for less than $300. Unsurprisingly enough, the console is expected to be tailored for Amazon's services, such as Amazon Prime. Don't expect the company's system to compete with the likes of PS4 and Xbox One—a better comparison would be with the Ouya game system, which has had its own set of problems since its launch last year. Amazon's console will surely have an easier time selling, especially to Prime customers, but its success is all but guaranteed. Let's just hope Amazon doesn't pull anything like it did with the Kindle and erase customers' apps when they feel like it.
