Let the record show that the state of Washington smokes two times more weed than everyone thought

According to the Huffington Post, the Rand corporation gathered federal data and survey information, then placed annual marijuana consumption in Washington somewhere between 135and 225 metric tons, with a median of 175. However, the Washington Office of Financial Management's estimate was just 85 metric tons, but that was made using federal data from 2008 and 2009.

This collection was done to help the liquor board ramp up for legal weed in Washington state, which begins next year. The Associated Press said that the median figure of 175 metric tons could produce 340 million joints. Expect even more to be smoked in 2014.
