Get excited: According to EW, the upcoming Veronica Mars movie—otherwise known as the little Kickstarter movie that could—has an official release date, and it's a fitting one at that. The film will open in theaters nationwide on March 14, 2014, which is coincidentally the one-year anniversary of the revolutionary Kickstarter which made the entire thing possible.

"Warner Bros. had this date circled for quite some time and hoped it would stay open," writer/director and series creator Rob Thomas told EW of the date. "Luckily, no other teen detective movie decided to open in the middle of March." Even better: It seems that Warner Bros. actually plans on giving the film a wide release, rather than the initial "limited engagement run" in select cities followed by a video on demand release that they were planning in the beginning. Though the number of theaters is still to be determined, the film will definitely be playing across the country—and the studio even plans to let the marketplace decide how long it stays in theaters.

As previously reported, the VM film is set 10-years after Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) graduated from Neptune High, and is set as she and her fellow classmates return for their 10-year reunion. You can check out the full trailer here, and a new exclusive clip via EW here.

March 14, marshmallows!
