During the past few months there has been a slow trickle of details surrounding the next installment in the Terminator franchise, but a recent tweet by Production Weekly has finally given fans something tangible to discuss by revealing the movie's official title:

Added prod. office info for Alan Taylor’s TERMINATOR: GENESIS and the indie LILA & EVE starring Viola Davis & @JLo http://t.co/eLno1Z9OUf

According to recent rumors, the movie is set to focus on a young Sarah Connor (possibly Emilia Clarke or Brie Larson) and could even feature the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger. The title Genesis goes a long way towards confirming rumors of this project being a prequel. However, there is also evidence, with yet another actress playing Sarah Connor, that Genesis could serve as a soft reboot of the entire franchise, along the lines of J.J. AbramsStark Trek.

The tweet also confirms that director Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) is still attached to the project, despite nothing official being announced yet. With production set to begin next month, expect Genesis to pick up momentum in the next few weeks.
