As media, we're probably all guilty of sensationalizing movements and exaggerating trends. So, the industry would be well-served to hire people who can distinguish actual trends from crazes that have been burning for a decade strong. Or, at least someone carte blanche to hit writers with a Tazer for using "introducing," "hipsters," or "discovering" in a 2014 headline.
