Spike TV is offering a few good reasons for gamers to lay down the controllers and tune in to the Mountain Dew-fueled bro-tastic love fest that is Spike VGX awards. VGX - previously known as the Video Game Awards but changed because of a lack of extremeness - is dropping a bunch of exclusive goodies for viewers this weekend.

Nintendo will be showing off new titles for the Wii U as well as South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker will be in usual form – presumably on acid – to give a sneak peak of the newly-delayed but hotly anticipated South Park: The Stick of Truth.

Spike VGX will also include new info about Titanfall, Quantum Break, Broken Age, creepy zombie smash-fest Dying Light, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Tom Clancy’s apocalyptic multiplayer shooter The Division. VGX will feature musical performances from artists on Grand Theft Auto V’s original soundtrack; Tangerine Dream anyone?

VGX will premiere in a three-hour livestream kicking off Saturday, Dec.7 at 6pm ET. The awards will be streamed live on PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Twitch, iOS and Android Devices. As if that isn’t enough it’s going to be on damn near every entertainment website including: VGXLIVE.com, Spike.com, ComedyCentral.com, MTV.com, MTV2.com, BET.com and GameTrailers.com. A highlight reel from the show will aired on Monday, Dec. 9 at midnight on Spike TV.
