This past weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live was one of the show's greatest in a while with host Jimmy Fallon and musical guest Justin Timberlake, so these ratings are really no surprise: According to The Hollywood Reporter, SNL managed to score its best ratings in two years with last Saturday's episode.
So, what was the breakdown? According to Nielsen numbers (via TV By the Numbers), the episode pulled in an average 6.3/16 rating among households, and a 3.9/18 rating for the advertiser-coveted demo of adults 18-49. These numbers make the episode the highest-rated since the Jan. 7, 2012 episode, which featured host Charles Barkley and musical guest Kelly Clarkson—and that was mostly because of an NFL game that ran into overtime.
If you don't count NFL overrun, then this past Saturday's episode was the highest-rated since the 2011 season finale, which was actually hosted by Justin Timberlake. The biggest takeaway here: Justin Timberlake brings big ratings for this show. Let's just have him appear in all the episodes now, yeah?
