Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee holds a special place in gamer's hearts as one of the funniest and most original platformers of all time. For its remake, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty!, developer Oddworld Inhabitants will reuse some of the best material, including the original voice actor, from the classic 1997 release.

"What we're doing with New ‘n' Tasty is re-doing the original music, keeping to the same style and feel as the original," game audio engineer Mike Taylor said. "The cut-scenes in the game are all brand new, and are being re-made from the ground up, so we're getting new music written and rewritten for those scenes by Michael Bross."

Unable to find CD quality voice samples, voice actor and Oddworld founder Lorne Lanning was brought on again to provide the signature voice to the protagonist, Abe, the lonely Mudokon Slave. Fans were also asked to help out and submit their best samples of different  characters.

The remake of the classic puzzle platformer is being undertaken by original developer Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water. The game will be reimagined but fear not! It will retain the original puzzles with only “slight modification” to improve game features.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! Was announced back in 2012 with no set launch date as of yet but set for Spring of 2014. It plans to released on Xbox 360, Windows PC, PlayStation 3, PSVita and PS4. Check out the Trailer below.
