Artist, comedian and Chicagoan Robert Bacon has produced a fantastic re-imagination of the iconic New York City Subway Map has a Super Mario World.

Bacon created the map over two months dropping pixel by pixel onto the grid. "I really enjoy making pixel art and find it extremely calming," Bacon told Daily Intelligencer, "I really like sitting down, turning on some music, and making pixel art."

There are castles in each borough and flight available at the airports while oddly a star at Rikers Island, New York’s picturesque city-side prison. Bacon may be from Chicago but doesn’t waste any time on sticking it the inside-joke that is Staten Island. Turning the island into an impenetrable Koopa castle.
