Pranksters at 4Chan, the image-sharing site, created an official-looking Xbox image with instruction on how to make the Xbox One backwards compatible. The instructions, if followed, will break the Xbox One and void the warranty.

After getting a lot of attention on Twitter for a fix for one of gamers biggest complaints about the Xbox One, Microsoft spokesperson Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has responded. "To be clear there is no way to make your Xbox One backwards compatible & performing steps to attempt this could make your console inoperable."

The prank come after the revelation that every Xbox One user could turn on the developer kit by inputting a button sequence, resulting in some gamers not knowing what they’re doing with some messed up consoles.
